Big, bold beautiful ad images are the hallmark of NewLIST. To get your ads up and running on NewLIST you'll need to engage the services of a first-class graphic designer or you can ask AI to assist you in generating them for you. See our Generating Images with AI section below.

A NewLIST ad may have one or more different size images. The ad images sizes are:

  • Full Size - 1140 x 620 - PNG or JPG
  • Half Size - 560 x 620 - PNG or JPG
  • Quarter Size - 560 x 300 - PNG or JPG
  • Eighth Size - 270 x 300 - PNG or JPG
Why so many ad sizes?

Because your ads will show at differeent sizes depending on the number of serarch results returned. The higher your ad points, the highter up and larger your ad will be within the search results.

Why not just shrink or "scale" an ad to a different size?

Because at NewLIST we were founded by a group of talented designers. Often an ad's entire layout will change depending on the real estate (image size) available. NewLIST gives your business the flexibility of producing ads that aren't just "scrunched" into some smaller ad space.

Once you have your new ad images, or any other media you would like to dispay on brand or offer profiles, you'll be ready to upload and manage your ad images and other media.

Managing Media

The Media manage area is accessed via the main menu and from the Dashboard You should see an empty table like the above image. Clicking the Upload Media button will open the uploader.

Uploading Media

Once your images have been created to your satisfaction, you'll need to upload them to be served by NewLIST. Ad images can only be served by NewLIST for quality control reasons. NewLIST delivers your ad images via a lightning-fast CDN.

Within the Media area, click the Upload Images button to reveal the upload utility. Simply select all of the images you would like to upload and drag them with your mouse into the upload images drop zone. You can drag and drop up to 10 media files at a time.

The uploader accepts the following file types: .jpg, jpeg, .png, .pdf, .mp4

NOTE: For ad images to be shown on NewLIST, the images sizes must exactly match the template image sizes.

Media Listing

Once your images and other media have been successfully uploaded, they will automagically appear in the images table. There are a few featrues and fields within this images list to take note of.

The images within the table list are searchable to help you find and sort multiple images quickly and easily. Select the number of media you want to see at one time, like 5, 10, or 25 items at a time. Clicking on a row with the sorting icon will resort the table list either ascending or descending by whatever text appears within the column.

Thumbnail - Clicking on the thumbnail image will reveal the image full size within a popup lightbox.

Image Name - The original image name of the uploaded image. Click on the image name to change if you like. Press enter to save.

Group Name - Often it is helpful to group images by name, such as "Big Sale" or a location or some other tag that you can filter by. Because this field is searchable, you can filter large media collections by the group name. Click the empty field to add a group name for your images. Press enter to save. Note that the Group Name is just for your media management purposes and will not appear within any public search results.

Language - If your images have text that is a specific language, you can set that here. Note that if you set your ad images to Spanish, for instance, they will not appear in English-based search results. If your target market is both English and Spanish, you will need to generate images in both languages and create separate ads for each language.

Physical - The physical characteristics of the image or media.

Review Status - NewLIST AV scans and content reviews all media uploaded to our CDN. This column shows the status of our review.

Controls - Some handy controls to help you edit and maintain your media files.

Review Status

Under the Review Status column of the table, you'll see the review status for "Published" and "Featured".

Published is the heading that shows if your ad image or media has been approved for showing on NewLIST.

Featured is a very special designation. If you see the featured status, it means that we liked your ad enough that we're willing to show your ad on the NewLIST homepage, witin our emailed circulars. Not every ad is good enough to get featured on NewLIST. If you have been approved for a featured ad, congratulations, your ad designer is a rock star!

Pending status is what your media will initially be set to.

Approved status is what you will see when your media is approved for showing on NewLIST.

Declined status means your media was not approvd for some reason. We will leave notes for you to review that are specific enough for you to understand why your media was not approved, what tenet of our TOS you may have violated, and how to remedy the issue to get approved.

NewLIST reserves the right to decline any content at any time for any reason, even if it may have benn pevsiously approved; but we will attempt to communicate why we declined your meadia and let you know how you can remedy the issue and hopefully get approved quickly.

What to do if my ad image is not approved.

NewLIST admittedly has some rather nebulous criteria for which we will decline an image or media for publication or to be featured. Generally, however, an image will not be approved if:

  1. the image is not professionally designed, or professional enough, for inclusion;
  2. the image contains nudity, graphic violence, gore, or other gross, repulsive or shocking imagery;
  3. the image is of a controversial or political nature;
  4. an image violates some legal trademark or copyright you do not own.

If your ad is not approved, you can still contact our CEO using the support area of NewLIST for a final decision. Our CEO loves to hear from users and clients and fix problems!

Media Controls

Under the Controls column of the table, you'll see multiple control icons. Click the icons to:

  Play or    Pause - Allows you to show or hide this media from profiles. This is convenient for showing or hiding promotional images or other media that you may only want visible for a time. Paused media do not show on any public profiles nor do paused images show on ads. CAUTION: if you pause an image that is running with an ad, your ad will stop showing.

  Edit - Shows a popup window that allows you to edit and view certain features of the media.
